RoboCorns Qualify for 2023 World Championship

FTC Team 14423, the RoboCorns, participates in FIRST Tech Challenge at Downingtown Area Robotics. For the 2022-23 season, we have been working on the PowerPlay challenge. Because of our performance this season, we earned an invitation to the 2023 FIRST World Championships to be held in Houston, Texas!

It is a special honor to participate in the World Championship. However, participating requires travel and other costs, and the RoboCorns are looking for help to defray their expenses. The following are some of the team expenses:

  • Registration fees: $2,000
  • Team T-Shirts (3 sets for 4 days): $600
  • Travel to Houston (kids only, not including coaches and parents): $4,000
  • Lodging in Houston (5 nights): $5,600

No amount is too small! We appreciate your help.

Thank you for helping send this special team to the FTC world championship. They will have worked on this for nearly nine months by the time they compete. With your help, this is an experience they will have to cherish for the rest of their lives. All donations will go to Downingtown Area Robotics, a 501(c)(3) non-profit.

2018 Eastern PA Qualifier

This was an amazing event for us. It was our first official qualifying tournament. Not only did we finish qualifying matches undefeated in first place, we went on to be the Winning Alliance Captain and punched our ticket to the PA State Championships in March 2019!

Our efforts leading up to this event was to practice, practice, practice! We decided to not add any more functionality to our robot and instead concentrate on getting a consistent autonomous and endgame since those were where the most points were.

Thanks to our alliance partners, Team 4174, Atomic Theory and Team 14842, our Downingtown Area Robotics teammates, Spygears!

2018 Oxford Open

This was our first scrimmage event where we were able to compete but also be able to figure out our robot and how a tournament works. We did fairly well for a rookie team, finishing in 8th place out of 18, with a record of 3 wins and 2 losses. We had good runs, even though we had problems. Our drive team did a good job and were able to recover from mistakes quickly. Even though we were nervous, we did fine.

Pennsylvania FTC Rover Ruckus Kickoff

Today we attended the FTC kickoff at Penn State’s Great Valley Campus. We were facetiming other FTC team areas all across PA. The presenter from Penn State (the campus in York) reviewed different areas of FTC such as….

  • Awards and Advancements
  • Coaches Calls
  • Volunteering
  • Consent and Release Forms
  • Qualifiers/Competitions/Scrimmages Dates
  • CHALLENGE REVEAL!!!
